Allis Saga's Multi-Cylinder Hydraulic Cone Crusher Deployed Successfully at Taigang Group's Ekou Iron Mine
2024-02-03
Project Background

Established on December 12, 1981, Ekou Iron Mine under Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. Mining Branch is the second-largest iron concentrate production base of the Group and has since become a key pillar supporting the group's development. Over the past 20 years, due to the underdevelopment of China's machinery manufacturing industry, the crushing and screening equipment at Ekou Iron Mine has long been dominated by imported products.
After Baowu Group acquired a controlling stake in Taigang Group in 2022, it set the goal of strengthening the mining sector and increasing the self-sufficiency rate of iron concentrate for Taigang. Given that the crushing equipment at Ekou Iron Mine was aging with high failure rates, a technical renovation plan was approved that year to replace one medium crushing unit.
Leveraging its high-performance equipment, outstanding market performance, and good reputation for after-sales service, Allis Saga was selected among multiple domestic and foreign bidders for the supply of one MHC600 multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher.
Project Overview
Project Name: Taigang Daixian Ekou Iron Mine Project
Ore Type: Iron Ore
Processing Capacity: 450 t/h
Equipment Configuration: MHC600C
In early January 2023, the customer demolished the old imported equipment and replaced it with Allis Saga's MHC600, which was commissioned and met the designed capacity and performance standards in just 12 days.
The long-held perception that "domestic equipment is inferior" has been deeply ingrained among many users. However, a series of tests demonstrated that the MHC600 met all technical requirements in terms of output, product yield, operational stability, and automation level—performing on par with international brand equipment—and completely dispelled the customer's doubts about opting for domestic equipment. The equipment was officially accepted three months later and has been operating stably ever since.
This MHC600 marks Allis Saga's first multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher deployed at a major domestic iron and steel group. Its successful application not only breaks the monopoly of foreign manufacturers in the high-end, large-scale mining equipment market, but also provides more flexible and diverse options for high-end customers worldwide in the multi-cylinder cone crusher segment.
Baowu Group has fully recognized the equipment performance and services of this project, and once again selected the MHC600 multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher for Kunming Iron and Steel's Dahongshan Project in 2023.

Equipment Overview

The MHC series multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher is a new type of high-performance equipment innovatively designed by Allis Saga integrating advanced technologies. It is mainly suitable for the secondary and tertiary crushing of various hard ores and rocks in metal mining, aggregates production, industrial slag processing, and other fields.

Performance Features
1. Hydraulic cylinders and accumulators arranged around the crusher ensure faster tramp iron relief, preventing jamming and shutdown.
2. The circumferential arrangement of hydraulic cylinders effectively reduces the overall machine height, thereby lowering the required plant clearance for the same production capacity.
3. Maintenance can be performed through top disassembly. The hydraulic motor rotates the fixed cone fully out of the adjusting ring for convenient and quick liner replacement.
4. The hydraulic motor-driven fixed cone rotation allows for fast and accurate discharge opening adjustment for product size control, while facilitating rapid tramp iron discharge.
5. By replacing the moving and fixed cone liners, adapter rings, and fixing bolts, the crushing chamber can be freely converted from standard type to short-head type.
6. High-performance non-contact labyrinth seal kits feature zero mutual wear, significantly enhancing dust isolation, effectively protecting precision components, and reducing lubricating oil replacement frequency.
7. The MCIS Multi-Cylinder Intelligent Control System maintains optimal performance under all operating conditions.
